We offer one-to-one study skills support to students, in receipt of their Disabled Student Allowance, who have learning difficulties including dyslexia and dyspraxia.
We are a team of professional and experienced tutors who work in close partnership to continually improve our service through shared practice and experience. We operate a comprehensive training programme which includes a ‘buddy’ system to ensure less experienced tutors benefit from being partnered with more experienced tutors. All tutors are subject to regular assessments for quality assurance purposes and are conducted by the senior partners/managers of the agency to guarantee the quality of support provided is maintained at the highest level.
The quality of the service we provide is paramount; all our tutors are qualified to provide specialist one-to-one support and further developed though a continual professional development programme. Our tutors are required to complete an initial training programme in Dyslexia Awareness and undergo an induction process to ensure the service they provide through our agency is of an excellent standard.
The Dyslexia Foundation team of tutors come from a variety of professional backgrounds, including teaching, university lecturing, the police service, housing, newspaper editing, IT, fitness coaching, civil service, law, art, graphic arts, local government and social services to name but a few. We also employ specialist mathematics, French and Spanish tutors.
Finally, all our tutors must complete a regular Criminal Records Bureau check in the interests of students’ safety.
